Batman: 8 Incredibly Dark Joker Moments We'll Never See On Screen

4. Cutting Off His Own Face

There€™s a lot of stuff the New 52€™s done wrong, the first and foremost being that they put Grant Morrison in charge of both Superman and Batman. Though responsible for two of the best stories in each of the character€™s publication history (All-Star Superman and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth respectively), his new interpretation of the characters turned Superman into emo jerk and Batman into a insane vigilante. While Superman remains yet to be fixed, the Batman title was soon taken over by Scott Snyder, who wasted no time in cementing his position by launching into the critically-received storyline €œDeath Of The Family€. Referencing the aforementioned Jason Todd title, the story concerns the Joker€™s attempts at purging the Bat family so that he and Batman can return to the €œgood old days€ when it was just the two of them. Of course the Joker, being a man of theatrics, had to devise a plan that would attract a ton of attention, as is expected for the grand opening of his return. The end result? Having the Dollmaker surgically remove his face and nail it on his cell wall at Arkham Asylum. Why It Won't Be Done... Even the Texas Chainsaw Massacre baulked at showing the cutoff faces of victims, aside from the one Leatherface wears, and it should be noted that those films are rated R. And it's extremely unlikely that any film-maker is going to make anything other than a PG-13, given the financial issues that are likely to come with anything else.

Red Stewart is big fan of the entertainment industry, with insights into film, television, and video games for starters. Despite growing up in the 21st century's era of modernization, he prefers many retro era ideas over the current trends found in many of today's media. Personally he's an introvert who loves reading as much as gaming.
