Black Widow: 10 Insanely Dark Moments That Won’t Be Used

2. Her Mentor Falling In Love With Her

Ivan Petrovitch is maybe the worst mentor to have ever graced the Marvel universe, and given a whole lot of mentors try to kill their pupils, that's saying a lot.

When Ivan meets Black Widow, she is an actual child, and a recently orphaned child at that. After taking the red-haired soon-to-be-murderer under his wing, the man becomes a sort of surrogate father for the girl, making his eventual confession of love for her even worse.

All of this is important to understanding the story of Black Widow, but it's also likely to never show up in the film, because of the pair's unfortunate parting of ways - in that Petrovitch becomes a robot, tells Natasha he's always been in love with her, and then tries to kill her.

It's sort of like Shakespeare, only in an age where the you can't get legally married at twelve, so infinitely, entirely worse. Here's to hoping Marvel carefully dodge this one in any future adaptions to come.
