How Did He Die? Seeing as we're covering Doug Ramsey, we might as well cover his best friend, Warlock. The kooky alien ended up buying the big farm on the internet (that's where robots go instead of heaven, right?) thanks to a run-in with pesky old enemies the Right and its leader, Cameron Hodge.

Hodge had managed to kidnap a few of the New Mutants including Warlock, Boom Boom, Rictor and Wolfsbane, absconding with them to Genosha. Warlock discovered that Hodge had plans to turn the captives into mindless slaves, so Warlock set about setting his fellow prisoners free.

Successful in doing so, Warlock was too weak to escape with his friends, and told them to leave without him. After much back and forth, they left, and Warlock turned back to face Hodge. Outmatched and outgunned, Warlock was reduced to ashes.

How Did He Come Back?

Warlock's ashes were sprinkled over Doug's grave, an ode to their friendship. When the alien race known as the Phalanx came calling, their techno-infection crept through the earth and brought Warlock back to life in a body that resembled Doug's, along with Doug's memories. He referred to himself as Douglock for a time, went on a weird road-trip with some buddies he met along the way, and ultimately disassociated himself from Doug's memories, becoming Warlock once again.
