Having anyone take death seriously in the Marvel universe is an uphill battle just to start with. Over the decades we have seen every excuse from having characters prove to be just in hiding, to full blown resurrections in order to bring them back. If the Death of Wolverine is to have any impact it should stick to its guns. The comic needs to show him as totally dead, not in a coma, hiding or ready to use some Get Out Of Hell Free card to waltz back into the land of the living. The storyline would lack any meaning if Logan turned up fine six months later, but more than that it needs to actually end with him dead. Worse still would be for the actual title of the book to be a lie. Rather than ending with Logan finally meeting his maker, the story could contain some sudden twist which worms its way out of actually killing him off. If this proved to be a trick premise, merely showing a metaphorical end or death of Wolverines identity, it would only draw ire from fans. Unless it was extremely well handled, it would be seen as a waste of time and money rather than a clever twist.
