JLA - Tower Of Babel: The Full Story

3. The League Overcomes

Tower of Babel
DC Comics

Even without the aid of their chief strategist, the Justice League banded together to overcome its problems. By JLA #46, they were ready to act. Arthur had gathered all the pieces of Plastic Man together and he reformed. From inside his aqua suit, Martian Manhunter created a mental picture of a vast dry desert in Arthur’s mind. J’onn and O’ Brian were able to get the Sea King into a water tank to save his life.

Manhunter teleported the rest of the League to the Watchtower. J’onn used his X-ray vision to locate the nanobot in Wonder Woman’s brain. Plastic Man made his finger ultra thin and with the Manhunter’s telepathic guidance, they took the nanobot out. Through sheer force of will, Superman controlled his power overload long enough to destroy the vibra-bullet plaguing The Flash. Wally said that those were the most painful days of his life and J'onzz told him that it had only been 20 minutes.

J’onn lastly convinced Green Lantern that his blindness was caused by his ring. Using his telepathic powers, the Martian discovered a post-hypnotic suggestion in the young Green Lantern’s mind. The assassins had put the ring on Kyle's finger while he slept and his willpower made the blindness real. The Manhunter took the ring from Rayner and slowly, his vision returned.
