2. The Fall Of Babel
Batman discovered the location of al Ghul’s transmission. Using it to contact his teammates, he told them the location of the “Tower of Babel” and requested assistance. The team had time to talk and some of them felt that Batman had gone too far. Superman especially thought that this latest message was just another trap and that he should go alone.
As they travel to the Tower, Batman told Superman everything but Clark just stared at Bruce. The rest of the League arrived moments later and J’onn linked everyone telepathically so they didn’t need to speak. It was decided that Superman and the Flash would destroy the Tower while the rest of the League dealt with the small army of Ra’s followers that guarded it. Talia reached out telepathically to tell them that there was a second device but she was shot by a henchman before she could reveal its location.
By JLA #46, The Flash, Green Lantern, Plastic Man, and Wonder Woman went to the nation of Rhapastan where they didn’t discover a second device but did find Ra’s men preparing to unleash a deadly toxin that would destroy every living thing it touched. The heroes stopped them before they could destroy the small nation. Meanwhile, Superman and Batman went to Ra’s secret lair to capture him and retrieve his parent’s coffins but despite the assistance of Aquaman and J’onn J'onzz, al Ghul got away.
