Marvel: 10 Alternate Universes That Deserve To Be Onscreen

5. No Civil War (Earth-3490, Various)

This one in particular isn't necessarily limited to a single world, but a single premise - what would the world look like, or what elements of other worlds, made it so that the devastating, status-quo rocking Civil War didn't actually happen?

There were a few worlds tackling that particular question that Reed Richards found on his search, but one of the most memorable only appeared in one extended panel, and yet resonated for obvious reasons:

On Earth 3490, Tony Stark was born a woman, and she and Captain America were married, their relationship preventing them from going to war with each other and their world moving forward with Superhero registration in a way that implied much less conflict than in the main universe.

In another world Richards stumbled upon, Earth-1789002, the 50-State Initiative to register powered people worked because a serum was invented that allowed anyone who wanted powers to get them. In yet another, Earth-26, Richards was able to remove all super-powers in the world, negating the need for the Initiative.

Overall, the best outcome seemed to come from (female) Tony Stark and Steve Rogers getting married. Which feels like Marvel is trying to tell us something.
