4. The Book Will Feature Some Of Marvel's Legendary Creators

Marvel Comics #1000 is set to celebrate Marvel across the ages, but by far one of the most exciting things about it is the fact that some of the publisher's most legendary figures will be along for the ride. Walter Simonson - who to many is responsible for the greatest Thor series of all time - will be involved, while George Perez, Alan Davis and Peter David are set to leave their mark on the issue as well.
Those are but some of the names that readers will recognise from Marvel's history, and though most will undoubtedly point towards the publisher's Bullpen Era as the company's most pivotal, it's equally important to remember that those who followed the likes of Stan Lee, Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby all played an integral part in creating the Marvel Universe as we know it today.
That's why it's so great to see them be recognised in these issues. It works as a nice nostalgic treat for older fans, and it gives newcomers the chance to jump back and appreciate those older stories.
