Marvel Legacy: 8 Reasons The Fans Should Be Worried

1. Too Much Retreading Old Ground

A quick glance over Marvel Legacy's launch arcs and it becomes apparent that the publisher is betting the farm on what has worked in the past.

There's so much retreading old ground here, from the return of the Sinister Six in Spider-Man to another slog across Planet Hulk.

Add to this a plethora of other returning villains and heroes on the comeback trail, and Legacy is beginning to sound like two steps backwards.

Of course, it will present some old favourites in a new light - we can't wait to see Frank Castle as War Machine or Loki as the Sorcerer Supreme - but the entire line feels bogged down by an unshakable sense of deja vu.

It feels as though Marvel has hit the reboot button but lacked the stones to push it in all the way, and as a result, only some of the new status quo will feel fresh.

The rest is running the risk of becoming more of a car crash than a Hulk smash.
