Marvel Says Infinity Will Be Part Of Free Comic Day
Posted earlier this week Marvel announced that the much anticipated Infinity comic event, featuring quite possibly the biggest and baddest villain in Marvel history, Thanos, will be part of the Free Comic Book Day Event this year. Now before everyone starts saying "They are just using Thanos because of the next Avengers movie," let me just say Thanos ALWAYS comes back; since he cannot die. This comic event is being created by a reputable team including Jonathan Hickman (Fantastic Four, FF, S.H.I.E.L.D) and Jim Cheung (New Avengers, Avengers: Illuminati, Young Avengers, and Avengers: The Children's Crusade). If the artwork on the cover is any indication, Thanos is bringing everyone into this fight. I mean Dr. Strange hasn't been needed for a fight in a while now. Needless to say, anytime Thanos rears his head stuff is about to hit the fan...hard. Now all of that being said I am very intrigued as to how they'll be bringing Thanos back and the why behind it(besides the obvious movie reasons of course). Last time we saw Thanos he was in the custody of the Elders of the Universe (in Avengers Assemble #1-8 storyline, in October of last year); the first hint that Thanos would be back soon. The second being how in the world did he get away from these guys? I mean their members consist of people like Champion of the Universe and Obliterator. These guys are no pushovers. They are all 100% immortal and most have the same skill set as Thanos himself. Oh and theyre probably the only people that could keep him locked up, it will be very interesting to see how Thanos got out and exactly what he has in store for the Marvel Universe this time around. Side note: Im also intrigued as to what the Thanos origin story (Thanos Rising) in April of this year will reveal about the background of Thaos, I mean sure we all know his goals, but how did he even become the avatar of Death? The cover art for both the stories are below along with source for this story. Thanos Rising Infinity
