Marvel's Avengers: Everything You Need To Know About M.O.D.O.K.
4. He Nearly Appeared Before In The MCU
Captain America may be one of the most famous Marvel superheroes but he's never had a strong rogue gallery. Since the 1940s, he's faced villains like the Armadillo, Man-Bull, the Eel, and the Walking Stiletto (I promise that last one is real.)
This was a bit of a problem when Marvel Studios needed three villains for the Captain America trilogy. There was no question that Cap's nemesis, the Red Skull, would serve as the antagonist of the first film but screenwriter, Christopher Markus, really struggled to find the right villain for Captain America: Winter Soldier.
At one point, Markus strongly considered having M.O.D.O.K. as the big bad with Peter Dinklage playing the role. Markus loved the character, but the rest of the Marvel team rejected his proposal, saying M.O.D.O.K.'s cartoony appearance would jar with the serious aesthetic of the film.
When Peter Dinklage was cast in Avengers: Infinity War, rumours circulated that he was once again going to play M.O.D.O.K. but this speculation also turned out to be false. Ultimately, it seemed the right decision to remove M.O.D.O.K. from Captain America: Winter Soldier since it's considered one of the strongest entries in the MCU.
