MCU: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Mephisto

2. Going To War With KISS

Assuming KISS really does stand for 'Kids In Satan's Service', one would've thought guitarist and tongue-out-of-mouth-enthusiast Gene Simmons would've hit it off with Mephisto...

Based on Simmons' transcendence into the comic book world, however, it appears the two are destined for battle. In a testament to KISS' inescapable popularity in the '70s, before they inexplicably thought ditching the face paint would work, the crew made it into Marvel lore in '77.

Repackaged as superheroes rather than rockers, KISS save the day a couple of times and even impress Marvel's actual units like The Avengers and the Fantastic Four. Among the no-good baddies they take down is none other than Mephisto, back on Earth (and then right back to Hell for the action finale) and back to causing trouble as per usual.

Simmons, fulled dolled up in his Demon get-up, throws down with Mephisto in the fiery chasms of the underworld. The big scuffle involves Simmons not succumbing to Marvel's no.1 Hell-dweller representative's illusions, ultimately giving him the kind of beatdown Johnny Blaze daydreams about.

Of Mephisto's many, many feuds and throwdowns over the years, this is a solid contender for the strangest.
