MCU Phase 4: 10 Obscure Comic Villains Who Should Appear

3. Mole Man

Studios have tried on two occasions to make Doctor Doom work as a main opponent to the Fantastic Four, and they've bene largely successful both times. In the event Disney's merger with Fox means another new FF is on the horizon, Mole Man could be an underdog in competing for the role of antagonist.

The thing with pitting the Fantastic Four against Victor von Doom or Galactus, as they have in past film releases, is that those characters are among the biggest in the family's rival catalogue. They're the finish line without any of the journey.

Mole Man is smaller time, and a more subtle introduction to what would be the fourth overall attempt at launching the Fantastic Four in film, while also bringing back a classic villain of theirs that some might forget.

We're going to go against the grain here in asserting that a shorter character doesn't necessarily require a small person to portray it, particularly when Mole Man is often drawn with such obscure physical features.

Therefore Patton Oswalt gets the nomination on two fronts. The comedian is a proven quantity in voice acting and would bring the funny punch that's inevitably needed with Mole Man, and he at least brings the huskier frame along with him.

This would be a significant step up from Oswalt's casting as the Koenigs on Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., allowing him to maintain his comedic streak while still adding some menace to the mixture.

Ideal Casting: Patton Oswalt

Tom Sunderland hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
