Spider-Man: 10 Alternate Spider-Verse Stories Fans Must Read

Since we're talking about stories that deviate from the classic Spider-Man formula, it stands to reason that at least one gets just downright weird. Case in point, our dear lovable friend Spider-Ham, aka Peter Porker, aka the culmination of John Mulaney's plan to infiltrate the psyche of all America by being so memetic and universal that he is literally a talking cartoon pig mascot.

It would be diabolically genius, if it wasn't so god damn silly.

But anyway, Spider-Ham is easily the simplest character on this list because his whole thing is right there on the tin. He is Spider-Man but from a universe where everyone is a talking animal. And believe it or not, this is not only something from the comics not made up for the film, but has been a longstanding tradition of Marvel for decades.

Unlike the jaded and snide Howard the Duck, Spider-Ham is optimistic, sarcastic, but always fun loving, which has endeared him to many a comic fan over the years. Hopefully the inevitable Spider-Verse sequel will have him show up to win over comic fans across the world all over again.
