Spider-Man: 10 Greatest Spider-Verse Cameos So Far

2. Silk (Cindy Moon, Earth-616)

Another original character who's been thrown into the events of Spider-Verse is Cindy Moon's 'Silk'. Silk was introduced to Peter during Marvel's 'Original Sin' story, where Peter was given a vision of another Spider who was being kept by Ezekiel; a character who tried to do the same to him some time ago. Cindy was actually bitten by the same radioactive spider as our Peter and carries most of the same abilities, with some even being a little more enhanced. Peter's "rescue" of Cindy from her isolation was the major starting point of the Inheritors' hunt where Morlun is seen to have noted the arrival of the "Spider Bride". This whole introduction raises so many intriguing questions about how the events of Spider-Verse will unfold around her and Peter. The question of just what Morlun meant by "Spider-Bride", coupled with Peter and Cindy's animalistic attraction to each other suggests some sort of impending relationship between them. Just what Peter and his other attachments have to say on this matter remains to be seen. With her having been the trigger for the commencement of the Inheritors' 'Great Hunt', it's likely that Dan Slott has big plans for Silk in this story. She has already proved herself to be a worthy ally; adept at using her powers and smart enough to know how to make herself the most useful. While 'Spider-Gwen' has already been granted a standalone series for next year, Marvel should be doing more for a character who is also establishing herself as the latest in a strong line of fantastic female characters in Peter Parker's life.
