Spider-Man: 10 Greatest Spider-Verse Cameos So Far
4. Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O'Hara, Earth-928)
Spider-Man 2099 was reintroduced to the Marvel picture by Dan Slott during the course of a crossover story in the pages of Superior Spider-Man. His introduction here actually formed some of the basis for the events of Spider-Verse, and his popularity was such that this story proved to be a jumping on point for many people who had initially shunned the idea of Doc Ock taking over Peter's life. It also led to the character getting his own series again for the first time since the late 90s. For Spider-Man 2099, his involvement in the events of Spider-Verse demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the character's popularity. He will appear in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Verse comics, and will also see the events crossover into his own main series for a few skirmishes and developments based solely around himself. To this point he has served as a major plot device in demonstrating Morlun's fear of our own Peter Parker and helping readers re-realise what makes Earth-616 so crucial to this conflict. The chance to see him interact with both Otto and Peter as Spider-men, having fought alongside both of them around the course of 'Goblin Nation' will no doubt be intriguing, and this conflict could finally see him find his way back to his own universe for future issues.
