8. Neglecting His Wife
J. Jonah Jameson shouldn't strike anyone as being a family man. He's portrayed as being self-centred, greedy and bullish throughout the Raimi trilogy of films, and whilst those traits are all what make him the guy audiences love to hate, there's one person they have to feel sorry for at the same time: his wife.
Spider-Man 2's planetarium scene was meant to be the pinnacle of Peter Parker's life going down the toilet, with the love of his life getting engaged to someone else right in front of him, and his best friend publicly disowning him to boot.
It also gave a bit of an insight into Jameson's home life, who was also at the party that night, as he's shown running through the crowd putting his wife in front of as many important people as he can find. His wife, to give her credit, takes it all in her stride, which only goes to show that this sort of treatment is something she's become all too familiar with over the years.
There are also a handful of scenes where Jameson is shown rejoicing in the fact that his wife can't find things like a the chequebook, indicating this is a relationship where he likes to keep things cheap and under the thumb.
