Spider-Man - 10 Worst Things J. Jonah Jameson Has Ever Done

7. Lying About Food Poisoning In New York

Whilst Jameson is actually shown multiple times throughout the film and comic books as a competent journalist who genuinely understands the good the press can do, he's certainly not above the odd bit of fake news when the headline fits right. Raimi's take on Jameson is especially happy to do just that, constantly seeing the potential in spinning stories in ways that will guarantee sales - even if his sources are murky.

One particular instance of this comes in Spider-Man 2 where Jameson, after being chased for a front page headline by Robbie, comes up with the super catchy: "Food Poisoning Scare Sweeps City".

When asked whether some food had actually been poisoned by Hoffman, he replies with a Jameson-esque: "I'm a little nauseous, yeah."

Not only is this scene a great insight into the everyday circus that is Jameson's Daily Bugle, it also goes a long way in showing just how grey the editor-in-chief can be when it comes to morals and ethics. Leading a one man charge against a web-slinging superhero is one thing, however examples like these just go to show that there is nothing Jameson won't stoop to in order to chase those sales.
