Spider-Man - 10 Worst Things J. Jonah Jameson Has Ever Done

3. Engaged In Corruption As Mayor

In a 2009 storyline, JJ managed to wrangle himself into the heart of New York politics by running for the position of Mayor of the city. Using his influence as a recognisable voice in the community and the face of New York's hottest newspaper, he beat out the other candidates and cemented himself the top position.

Instead of using this new position as an excuse to put his tabloid Spider-smearing behind him, Jameson only used it to further his personal vendetta. He upped the amount of negative publicity pumped out towards Spider-Man, and even found the funds to assemble an 'Anti-Spider Squad' to bring Spidey in.

Not only was this a total waste of time and resources that would have ended up hurting the city he was serving more than help it, but it only went to show Jameson as the selfish individual driven by his own agendas he is.

As his mayoral war with Spider-Man became more and more obvious that it wasn't ever going to become something he could win, Jameson only showed his frustration more with double the shifts and even more money being flushed down the drain.
