Star Wars: 10 Best Expanded Universe Comics From The New Canon

1. Star Wars (2015-2019)

Set after Episode IV: A New Hope and before Episode V: Empire Strikes Back, the main Star Wars series tracks the many adventures the Rebel group encounter as they strike out at the Empire and fortify the Rebel forces. From injustice reigns on Tatooine to Yoda's Secret War and a mutiny on Mon Cala, the ragtag heroes have a lot on their plate before the battle of Hoth.

Star Wars is written by Jason Aaron (Avengers), Kieron Gillen (Iron-Man) and Greg Pak (Planet Hulk). Each of the three superstar writers brings their flare and sensibilities to the Star Wars franchise as they create more obstacles in the path of our heroes. The series also utilises a rotating roster of fantastic artists, all of whom manage to successfully capture the magnitude and beauty of the Star Wars franchise.

It is a must-read for any Star Wars fan, as it links into the original three films - referring to the smallest of details along the way - while telling its own stories that add to the world without diminishing the franchise.
