The Walking Dead: 10 Comic Moments That Went Too Far

8. The Prison Serial Killer

In the TV series most of the prison survivors are quickly killed off. Tomas was the first person Rick killed in the third season, showing that surviving a winter on the road had hardened Rick even further.

In the comics, Tomas is swapped for Thomas, a quiet yet large man who seems to be quite friendly. At first he seems like a fairly innocent character, but he quickly takes a dark turn once everyone lets their guard down.

It turns out that Thomas was actually a serial killer. His first act? Decapitating both Rachel and Susie Greene, Hershel's two pre-teen daughters. Seeing Hershel find this was bad enough, but Thomas' reveal as the serial killer as he confronts Andrea is pretty unnerving too. While he isn't successful in killing Andrea, he's still able to leave a scar across her face with his knife.

It's no surprise that the TV show producers didn't want to adapt the serial killer story-line. After all, it would be pretty difficult to get AMC to pass off on two kids being found decapitated by their own father. It's just a bit much for TV.
