Thor: 10 Mortals Who Wielded Asgard's Weapons

3. Beta Ray Bill

Taking a break for a hot minute from talking about Mjolnir, we have its distant cousin, the hammer Stormbreaker. Yes, it's a hammer hammer - not an axe-hammer - despite what the MCU may say.

While the MCU's Stormbreaker is a mix between Mjolnir and Jarnbjorn, Stormbreaker may have an alien design but still shares the same general designs as Mjolnir.

So who mainly wields this weapon in the comics? An alien creature named Beta Ray Bill, and yes that is his actual first middle and last name. When he first showed up, Thor thought he was an enemy due to his...less than approachable appearance and demeanor. But after a brief scuffle, ol' Billy proves his trustworthiness by lifting Mjolnir.

Utterly convinced, Thor helps him get his own hammer, Stormbreaker, with the same basic powers, and Beta Ray Bill has since become one of Thor's most reliable allies. He even took over the Thor book when Thor was indisposed for a while.

Beta Ray has not lost Stormbreaker since first getting it, instead being bound at the hip to the hammer and roaming the cosmos as a renown hero.
