For a time, when Eddie Brock was diagnosed with cancer, the Symbiote kept it at bay, eating the cancer and keeping Brock alive. However, when the two were parted and the Venom Symbiote was bonded to another, the cancer returned, slowly killing Eddie Brock.

However, because the two were bonded so long and so deeply, some latent traces of the Venom Symbiote were found in Brock's cells, and with some experimentation, they came together as an entirely new Symbiote called Anti-Venom - a white-coloured strain of Venom that had the ability to heal any known disease by releasing anti-bodies, purifying the body of corruption or ailment.

Unlike its more controlling progenitor, the Anti-Venom Symbiote was entirely mindless, and Eddie Brock was able to control it without issue. When the Spider-Virus threatened the world, the Anti-Venom Symbiote was used to cure it, a task so great it was destroyed in the process.

However, years later, while creating a new cure for issues caused by the Venom Symbiote, another Anti-Venom Symbiote was artificially created - one that bonded with Flash Thompson to create Agent Anti-Venom.

When he died in heroic sacrifice, after using Anti-Venom to cure others, the Anti-Venom Symbiote died along with him.
