Venom: 11 WTF Moments Not Used In The Film

3. Brains And Chocolate

Though Venom does chomp off a head or two in the film, little emphasis was put on his penchant for eating brains. This penchant for sucking the soft human skull meat out of heads was popularised in the 90s by a Venom action figure that claimed he wanted to eat brains, like a zombie.

The brain eating was explained more in detail in the comics, where Venom formed a hunger for brains due to a need for the chemical found in them called Phenethylamine, to keep Venom sane and in control.

However, because of Eddie Brock's horror at devouring fellow humans, Venom was able to find a workaround: Chocolate.

Phenethylamine could apparently be found as much in massive doses of chocolate as in brains, so many instances in the comics found Venom munching on delicious sweets by the box-full rather than chomping heads.

However, certain hosts (like Mac Gargan, the hungriest and one of the least moral of the Venom Symbiote's hosts) were more than happy to cannibalise as needed.

Most people probably prefer the chocolate. Certainly, Venom (the Eddie Brock edition) seemed to.
