Venom: Everything You Need To Know About Absolute Carnage

Being bonded to a symbiote has its perks. Regenerative powers, super strength, weird tongue. However, to fully utilise the powers of the suit, the host must be fully willing to allow the host into their mind and essentially become one with it, but what if Eddie has given too much of himself to his other?

After some horrific nightmares involving Knull, Eddie finds himself losing control of the symbiote until Knull's pet dragon shows up and starts laying waste to New York. Eddie is kidnapped (along with Miles Morales) by the dragon and is told the history of the Klyntar by an avatar of Knull. Although shocked, Venom eventually manages to defeat Knull, but the symbiote is lobotomised in the process.

Taking the form of a guard dog, the now mindless symbiote is powerless to stop repressed memories from flooding back to Eddie, life-changing revelations that change Eddie as a person, such as the incident that caused him to value innocence above all else and his inability to take blame, both fundamental pieces that first pushed Eddie into becoming Venom.

Feeling guilty for being the ultimate gooey gaslighter, the symbiote leaves Eddie, leaving him powerless to stop a newly reformed Carnage.
