Venom: Everything You Need To Know About Absolute Carnage

6. Eddie Has Major Daddy Issues

Absolute Carnage
Marvel Comics

Discovering that your partner has a secret past is a difficult thing to take in for anyone, but it must be particularly hard for Eddie Brock to discover that he knows next to nothing about the creature he let bond to him.

When the symbiote's mind is returned after some tinkering by evil Reed Richards and metal squid hat enthusiast the Maker, it is revealed that some vital memories in Eddie Brock's life have been altered by the symbiote, including the fact that he accidentally killed a child in a road incident while he was a teenager, forced by his father not to accept the blame, and, most importantly, that he has a teenage son called Dylan who was hidden from him.

Left alone after the symbiote enforces a self-imposed exile, The War of the Realms crossover did grant Eddie a non-sentient symbiote-like costume that is fuelled by Eddie's rage, but it is unsure as to whether that suit will survive the crossover.

So, going into Absolute Carnage, our best hope for a hero is either a mentally broken, homeless Eddie Brock, with no symbiote and a son in tow, or a mindless killer version of Venom. Either way, it doesn't look good.
