What Happened To Everyone Who Became Batman?

8. Tim Drake

Of all the Robins who could have potentially become Batman in the future, it always seemed as though Tim would be the least likely. Yes, he was a genius with an intellect rivalling Bruce's own, but he's never really been considered an heir to the cowl, even though he's been known as Tim Wayne for a good while.

This is why - perhaps more than other Bat-men - Tim's brief tenures as the Dark Knight are perhaps the most fascinating of all. Like his cohorts, Tim would take on the Batsuit in Battle for the Cowl, before ceding the identity to another Robin instead. Drake would later take on the identity of Red Robin, which he has retained in the years since, but one of the more recent potential futures has shown that he also becomes Batman at some point in the future.

As was revealed in Detective Comics #966, Tim Drake eventually becomes the Dark Knight and is more jaded than ever before, even using the gun that killed Thomas and Martha Wayne in combat.

It's a grim reality, and one only made possible by tragedies that befall his fellow Robins, with the mantle destroying Dick Grayson, consuming Jason, and compelling Damian to lay waste to everything that stood in his path.

Time will only tell if this future comes true, but it's fair to say that it's one of the grimmest realities DC have proposed in recent years.
