What Happened To Everyone Who Became Batman?
4. Damian Wayne
Damian Wayne may have started out as something of a divisive character, but he's managed to win over plenty of fans in the year since. He's the youngest Robin, but also one who's had to overcome his fair share of difficulties since he first took on the identity, with his father dying in Final Crisis, and himself having returned from the dead after the events of Batman: Incorporated.
It hasn't been an easy life for the son of Talia al Ghul, but he never gives up, no matter how petulant his attitude can be. Undoubtedly one of his biggest goals, though, has been to become Batman once his father cedes the mantle. Whereas Dick Grayson and Tim Drake shy away from the responsibility, Damian embraces it wholeheartedly, and it's been a treat to see play out.
Fortunately, fans have also been given the occasional glimpse of what a Damian Batman could actually look like. Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert first showed off the future in the suitably hellish Batman #666, with Damian engulfed in an apocalyptic Gotham determined to rid the city of crime for good in the wake of his father's death.
This version of Batman is said to be supernatural, and has even turned the city itself into a weapon against crime, although at the cost of his friends. He would later be seen mentoring Terry McGinnis in Batman #700.
