What Happened To Everyone Who Used A Lazarus Pit?

6. Cassandra Cain

Ra's al Ghul Lazarus Pit
DC Comics

After the landscape-changing War Games arc, the Batgirl of the time – Cassandra Cain – began to delve further and further into the mystery behind her parentage. Having initially been introduced as an illiterate mute who had zero social skills and quite the bloodlust, Cassandra had begun to flourish as a character once under the tutelage of the Bat family. And the next step in evolving the character was for DC Comics to explore the mystery of who Cass’ parents were.

This would all lead Cain to the door of The League of Assassins as Batgirl began to gather more and more evidence that Lady Shiva was her mother. By this point, it was already known that the villainous David Cain was Cassandra’s father, and her mission to track down Shiva ultimately saw Cass killed at the hands of her pseudo brother, Mad Dog.

In a classic mother and daughter moment to bring tears to the eyes, Shiva would bring her daughter back to life in a Lazarus Pit… before Cassandra would then break her mother’s neck and leave her for dead.
