X-Men: 10 Actors Who Could Play The MCU’s Magneto

3. Daniel Craig

When you take on the mantle of James Bond, it becomes pretty tough to become anything else. However, unlike many of his 007 peers, Daniel Craig has established himself as more than just the martini-drinking spy.

The English-born star has worked hard to find himself some great projects outside of the British cinema icon, and they've helped to get the Bond stink off him. But, it is a catch-22, as while he has gotten away from Bond, he still seems to be stuck playing the good guy. Thankfully, this dastardly role in the MCU could be the cure to that.

Craig is a very interesting actor as his persona seems to counteract his aesthetic. On the surface, he looks rough and tough, like a bona fide hardman. Yet, when he opens his mouth, there is an intelligence and sophistication behind him. This combo is what makes him an ideal candidate for Erik Lehnsherr.

This juxtaposition of toughness and intelligence would make him work on both the intellectual level and the physical one. You could totally buy him as the clever mutant idealist, but also as an intimidating villain to fight against. He's got the best of both worlds!
