10 More Upcoming Movies That Just Made PERFECT Casting Choices

If you're a filmmaker and you need a great actor to play a total weirdo, Jesse Plemons should typically be right at the top of your list, because he's just so damn good at it.

And so it's a joy to see him reunited with the great Yorgos Lanthimos for his new film Bugonia, a sci-fi black comedy in which conspiracy theorist beekeeper Teddy (Plemons) kidnaps Michelle (Emma Stone), the CEO of a major pharma company, believing her to be an alien who is intent on destroying Earth.

Even though Bugonia is based on the 2003 South Korean film Save the Green Planet!, it's clear that Plemons is bringing his own uniquely anxious energy to the part of the film's paranoid protagonist. 

That is to say, it takes no effort at all to buy into the premise that he is this man.

And on top of that, we know that Plemons works incredibly well with both co-star Stone and director Lanthimos, so don't be shocked if Bugonia finds him back in the awards conversation by year's end. Here's hoping.
