10 Actors Not Returning For Upcoming Sequels
4. Rick Moranis - Ghostbusters: Afterlife
This one is more understandable than most, and upon hearing Moranis’ reasons for steering clear of the reboot only the hardest of hearts would begrudge him his freedom. I mean really, if Moranis’ happiness means less to you than a belated re-appearance from his nerdy neighbour character, you need to reset your priorities.
You see, Moranis hasn’t appeared on film since his string of successes in the early nineties came to an end a few years after the tragically early death of his wife. Despite headlining the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise and starring in such childhood favourites as King Ralph and Little Giants, Moranis opted to retire from acting and public life in order to better care for his children.
Now a full-time dad, the actor rarely shown any interest in spending time back onscreen outside of a few passion projects. So, it makes sense that this year’s Jason Reitman directed reboot of his father’s iconic horror comedy series would do nothing to dispel that.
It’s also probably a doubly good decision when you consider the hell that broke loose the last time the film was on the general public’s radar a few years ago…
