10 Actors Totally Wasted In 2021 Movies

The minute it was revealed that Dave Bautista would be getting his teeth sunk into a zombie-infested Zack Snyder-helmed project in 2021, as the film's worn down, and emotionally battered lead, no less, fans were understandably stoked.

And though it would be rude to class this as a complete dud of an attempt to lead a feature for the very first time, it was hard to walk away from Army of the Dead without feeling as though the former WWE man's talents hadn't been properly utilised in the action-packed slog.

The one-time wrestler did have his moments. And had the film decided to spend more time unpacking the genuine anguish and devastation that was coursing through his veins after having to cut down his own infected wife, there's a world where we could be talking about this role in the same category as his compelling work in the MCU and Blade Runner 2049.

But all in all, Snyder was more concerned with creating visually impressive set-pieces and setting future spin-offs in motion than giving his leading character the canvas and ending he deserved. Did we really need to see a newly-undead dad take a bullet to the head from his own daughter?
