10 Actors Who Have Never Made A Sequel

3. Leonardo DiCaprio

He's one of the most talented actors of our generation, a box-office juggernaut, an Oscar-winner, and beloved by movie fans around the world. Yet despite his insane levels of fame and success, Leonardo DiCaprio isn't one for sequels.

While it's true that his film career kicked off with 1991's Critters 3, he wasn't reprising a role there, because he didn't appear in any of the previous Critters movies. Critters 3 also went direct-to-video - even the Hollywood greats have to start somewhere!

For the last three decades, DiCaprio has done nothing but standalone films. There have been a few potential franchises here and there (an Inception sequel could certainly work, although Christopher Nolan will probably never do it), but DiCaprio's clear desire to vary his output by portraying vastly different characters from film-to-film means that he hasn't really come close to starring in a franchise.

He's also incredibly selective when choosing his projects. There was almost a five-year gap between 2015's The Revenant and 2019's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, so it's hard to imagine him knocking out a comic-book movie every other year!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
