10 Actors Who Lost Roles Because They Got Greedy

4. Katherine Heigl - Valentine's Day

Considering Katherine Heigl's reputation as a good person to work with isn't exactly glowing, it's bizarre that her salary demands are as equally unpleasant given her lack of real good roles.

Following her infamous shunning of Judd Apatow's Knocked Up during the film's release, Heigl garnered a reputation for being hard to work with, and job offers dried up pretty quickly, with her departure from Grey's Anatomy in 2010 being her last real lasting onscreen impression until joining the main cast of Suits for its 2018-19 season.

Despite not exactly being a critical darling, 2010's Valentine's Day was a box office hit, and could have kept Heigl's star alive in the rom-com realm she was known for. Heigl demanded an unbelievable $3 million for the film, which was far more than any other actor was demanding in a cast that included Taylor Swift, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, and even Taylor Lautner.

Heigl would go on to star in the spiritual sequel New Year's Eve a year later, so clearly something got worked out in the salary department. But for Valentine's Day, the answer to her demand was a solid no.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
