9. Ethan Hawke - Total Recall
Hawkes role in the Total Recall remake was kept under wraps during production, and people werent sure if his involvement was just a rumour. Since he didnt appear in the theatrical cut that seemed to be the case, until Len Wiseman later confirmed Hawke played the original, pre-face lift version of Colin Farrells character. The original concept was Hawke would appear in the opening nightmare scene, and later reappear in the holographic film explaining to Farrell what was really happening. Wiseman thought the idea of two versions of the same character would be too confusing for audiences, so he ditched the idea. This is a pity because it was one of the few inventive touches Wiseman brought to Total Recall, and would have explored the themes of identity a little closer; next time Len, you should trust the audience a little more.
