Aside from, like, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper is arguably the biggest star in Hollywood right now. The fact that he's had a rather terrible filmic year isn't particularly good news, then, as almost every one of his 2015 released have been met by terrible reviews. Cooper can withstand the heat, of course (for now), but it's not exactly ideal, is it? The worst of the bunch: Aloha, Cameron Crowe's very terrible romantic comedy set in Hawaii and also featuring Emma Stone. Aside from being an utter shambles, the film attracted attention for being totally bonkers in every way. Cooper is serviceable as the lead, but it's safe to say this isn't the film anyone will remember him for. Also: it flopped. Hard. Aloha was followed by Burnt, a truly awful and obnoxious picture in which Cooper plays a chef named Adam Jones in the Gordon Ramsay vein. As a character, Jones proved to be more than insufferable, and Burnt was totally savaged by critics upon release. It made just $31 million on a budget of $20 million; not great Cooper money, you'll agree. Next up is Joy, co-starring Jennifer Lawrence, which isn't out until Christmas Day. The early reviews are mixed, though, making it unlikely that the film will salvage Cooper's dire 2015 even if it picks up the inevitable awards recognition. Like this article?
