10 Actors You Won't Believe Don't Have Oscars Yet

2. Amy Adams

Ed Harris Truman Show
Columbia Pictures

The female Leonardo DiCaprio has failed to muster the same campaign of outrage her Catch Me if You Can co-star did at his lack of a win. At a staggering six nominations from the Academy, Adams is one of the most decorated actors working today without an Oscar to her name.

Getting her big break from the low-budget Junebug which earned her her first nomination back in 2006 before exploding into the sights of mainstream audiences with her leading performance in the charming Enchanted. Since then, Adams has had a steady career of strong supporting work that has garnered her nominations such as Doubt, The Fighter, The Master and Vice. Not to mention an incredible leading nomination for American Hustle which also won her a Golden Globe.

Despite these nominations, Adams was looked over for one of her very best performances in Arrival that she dominated with a heart breaking and increasingly emotive character that earned her a SAG nomination. Adams has a chance of being nominated for her leading work this year for Hillbilly Elegy which, despite a mixed reception overall, she is undoubtedly phenomenal in. The film's less than stellar response may be enough to keep her out the running of a crowded Best Actress race but, like Arrival, she was SAG nominated once again.

The industry clearly loves her and rightfully so, but they have failed to show it with a deserving win.
