10 Actors You Wrongly Think Are In Movies
Despite what your memory might tell you, these actors weren't in these movies.
Memory sure is a funny thing, and with streaming services allowing us to have more movies at our fingertips than ever before, it's so easy to get things a little confused.
You might be absolutely convinced that an actor appeared in a certain movie, only to be unable to actually produce the receipts when you watch said movie for yourself.
It's happened to all of us at one time or another, where we're totally sure that an actor had a role, big or small, in a film, only to be totally mistaken.
Perhaps we mixed them up with another similar-looking actor, or maybe it was just wishful thinking on our part.
Whatever the reason, a large portion of the Internet believes that these actors appeared in these films, but if you actually dig into the "evidence" and take a long, hard look, that's evidently not the case.
In some examples it's easy to see how audiences were fooled en masse, while in others it's simply a case of a hazy memory getting distorted with the passage of time.
It's happened to the best of us, but now it's time to set the record straight once and for all...
10. Tom Cruise - Zombieland
Zombie movies certainly provide actors with an easy opportunity to make a sneaky cameo while hidden in plain sight, given the transformative makeup job required for anyone to resemble a member of the undead.
And because Bill Murray making a very overt - and hilarious - cameo in Zombieland as himself wasn't enough, many viewers have convinced themselves over the years that none other than Tom Cruise also makes a sly appearance in the horror-comedy.
At roughly 65 minutes into the film, just as the heroes arrive at the Pacific Playland amusement park, the camera lingers on a long-haired zombie who is lured towards the park by the bright lights, and who actually bares a pretty decent resemblance to Cruise.
Take away the long hair and gory makeup and the actor's facial structure is totally similar to the Top Gun: Maverick mega-star, such that countless posts have been made on social media over the years insisting that Cruise made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo.
Given that Cruise had a legendary secret cameo in Tropic Thunder the year prior, it certainly didn't seem outside the realm of plausibility for him to also show up in Zombieland, yet given that Cruise's presence has never been confirmed by anyone associated with the production, we can chalk it up to mere wishful thinking.
