6. Serenity
Creator Joss Whedon's sci-fi western vision certainly came to an end way too soon. Living on in this feature film, and through subsequent novels and comic books, the story of Firefly and Serenity has never felt entirely complete, but merely abridged. With the clout that Whedon now has as the director of the 3rd highest grossing film of all time (2012's Marvel's The Avengers), he now has the power to expand on his 2005 swan song to his TV series Firefly, the Serenity feature film. A re-cut of this film could tell us more about Shepherd Book ("he wasn't always a Shepherd"), more about Jane's pre-Serenity history, and more about what happened to Serenity and her crew following the events that killed the lovable pilot Wash and the ultimate fate of River Tam.
