2. Arnold Schwarzenegger - Last Action Hero

This immensely underrated effort from John McTiernan sublimely satirises Arnold Schwarzenegger's action career, though the film was unwisely marketed as a straight-up actioner, thus audiences were blindsided by what was instead a far more ambitious, intelligent film. It also features Arnie in his most brilliantly self-aware performance to date, playing an action hero named Jack Slater, who ends up dragged from his movie into the "real world", where his action skills aren't quite so effective. The crowning moment comes when Slater attends the premiere of the latest Jack Slater movie and has to protect the
actual Arnold Schwarzenegger from being killed, or he will himself be erased from existence. There's a cracking exchange between Slater and Schwarzenegger, where the actor praises Slater's efforts as an impersonator. Hilarious and truly under-appreciated.
