4. The Cloverfield Paradox

The third entry into the Cloverfield franchise is destined to forever be remembered for its incredible surprise release during the Super Bowl rather than, well, anything that actually happens in the movie itself.

After suffering through a painful post-production process, The Cloverfield Paradox is an initially intriguing though quickly baffling mess, wasting an excellent cast in the process, especially the terrific Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

The visuals are solid, but it's clear the movie has been hacked to pieces in editing, and the links to the wider Cloverfield franchise are ultimately tangential at best, which feels like a major cop-out.

It's at least a bit more interesting than most of the movies on this list, but if it had actually been any good, Paramount probably would've just released it in cinemas.
