2. Girls Against Boys - Danielle Panabaker (Killer Frost)
Danielle Panabaker may be best-known for playing Killer Frost in The Flash but it isn't the only time she's played a serial killer. In Girls Against Boys, her character, Shae, is encouraged by psychotic Lu to murder sexist men after being abused by a slew of boyfriends. Even though Shae enjoys feeling powerful over men for once, she begins having doubts when Lu goes too far.
Because Shae and Lu have been mistreated and raped, the viewers should sympathise with them while they exact their revenge on predators. However, the scenes of them punishing their victims are so excessively gory, it's impossible to see these women as anything but the villains.
Being the devil's advocate, you could forgive the movie if the deaths were a little creative. Sadly, none of the murders are original in concept or in execution. At a certain point, it feels like the film is being shocking for the sake of it rather than trying to tell an impactful story.
Even though Girls Against Boys desperately attempts to be an empowering feminist revenge story like Lady Snowblood, Thelma & Louise, or, Kill Bill, it fails miserably.
