10 Bad Signs That Spell Doom For Paul Feig's Ghostbusters
5. Emma Stone Turned It Down (Proving She Knows What She's Doing)
Emma Stone would have been on the top of many wishlists for a new Ghostbusters movie. Be it an all-female cast or not, she'd be perfect as a Ghostbuster. She has the look, the likeability, the comedic and dramatic chops, and a love of the franchise and Bill Murray. Remember Zombieland? Some of that geeking out was legit. Murray's also friends with Stone, and the two also worked together on Aloha, where the comedic vet helped cheer Stone up when she was under the weather.
So when Emma Stone was asked to appear in the new Ghostbusters, what did she do?
She politely declined, saying she had a scheduling conflict.
Stone handled that the best she could. Make no mistake, if she really wanted to be in the film, she would have been. She's simply taking the high road, proving she's a very skilled Hollywood player, a consummate professional, and smarter than anyone else who jumped into the project.
Thing is - had they landed her, the film would have had a much better chance of success, and maybe, just maybe, she could have convinced the notoriously difficult Murray to make an appearance. That said, it's almost better that this didn't happen.
