Infinity War's final minutes really went for the jugular in terms of deaths.

Freshly introduced and beloved characters such as Spider-Man and Black Panther disintegrated alongside old standbys like Star-Lord and War Machine. And seeing as it has yet to be revealed when Avengers 4 will pick up, whether it'll be minutes or months after the snap, audiences may get to see some side characters step up and take on the mantles of the fallen heroes.

Kevin Feige has even hinted as much in previous interviews when asked about the roles characters like Shuri would be taking in the franchise's future. With T'Challa gone, Shuri will have the chance to step up and don the Panther suit and rule Wakanda. Similarly, characters like the previously-teased Miles Morales may have to step up and use his own web-slinging abilities to keep what's left of New York safe in Parker's absence.

None of this is to say that the original-recipe heroes are gone forever. Far from it. Holland JUST teased that he's obviously going to be in Spider-Man: Far From Home, despite his death. But, it does mean that when they return, they could be working alongside this new generation.
