10 Best Christmas Horror Movies
6. Anna and the Apocalypse
If you like your Christmas movies, zombie apocalypse movies and musicals all rolled into one, then Anna and the Apocalypse is for you. This 2017 British comedy-horror was written by Alan McDonald and Ryan McHenry, based on McHenry's BAFTA-nominated short film Zombie Musical.
The movie takes the comedy-horror-musical stylings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and mixes it up with a healthy dose of yuletide cheer and gory zombie action.
The plot concerns a teenager named Anna whose graduation plans are disrupted due to a rapidly spreading zombie virus in her town of Little Haven. While it may not be the funniest or scariest horror movie to watch during the holiday season, it does provide a refreshing take on the zombie apocalypse genre, the musical genre and the Christmas-horror genre and features some solid musical numbers and a cast of likeable characters to spice up the sometimes dull horror elements.
So if you're out for a festive fright fest that isn't too dark or heavy, Anna and the Apocalypse provides enough cheer and levity to make it an easy-going watch.
