10 Best DC Comics Movies (So Far)

5. Watchmen

The only hard 18-rated film on this list, Zack Snyder€™s Watchmen brought with it a level of graphic violence, sex, nudity, and language very rarely seen in the comic book movie. Seen by many as unfilmable, Snyder took Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons€™ iconic graphic novel and ran with it. Embracing all its darkness and grittiness, he painted a picture of a fascinating alternate history in the height of the Cold War in which superheroes exist alongside heroes, vigilantes, and villains. Littered with references to the source material, no expense was spared in developing a faithful adaptation of the original graphic novel. Rather than working with green screens, Snyder opted to shoot much of it on real sets, lending it a greater feeling of authenticity that translates so well on screen. An epic take on a classic DC property.
