10 Best Hard Rock Songs Used In Movies

3. Immigrant Song - Thor Ragnarok

As Marvel reached its next phase of development, the use of copyrighted music had already been happening for a little while. After Guardians of the Galaxy set the classic rock kick rolling with the various iterations of Peter Quill's Awesome Mix, fans were left wondering if any other films would use the same technique. Though the Avengers films kept with traditional score for the most part, Thor Ragnarok had one of the greatest introductions for the new and improved God of Thunder.

Across this third installment, this is clearly a different Thor than we are used to, with a script that is a lot more funny than people may have originally expected. On the other hand, it doesn't skimp out on badass moments towards the end, when the Son of Odin summons up the strength to defeat legions of the undead soldiers of Hela, all while Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song plays in the background. Given that the song itself is about mythology, it's pretty much impossible for it to not come off as cheesy, and yet it serves as the ideal way for Thor to demolish any evildoer in his path.

The executives probably knew they had something good on their hands too, given that they let the entire song play out without having to edit it down to suit the scene. The days of boring Thor were over...it was now time for things to crank up a notch.
