Not only is Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs' one of the best villains in cinema, he probably has the best disguise in horror history. After Hannibal breaks out of his cell with a makeshift key, the former forensic expert turned cannibal brutally attacks two guards before seemingly escaping.

When the police storm his cell, they discover one of the guards, Pembry, is alive but his face has been left badly mutilated. After Pembry is transported out of the facility via an ambulance, the police discover a body, supposedly Hannibal, in the elevator shaft. But upon investigation, they discover the corpse is none other than Pembry!

Even before the big reveal, the audience realises what has happened - Hannibal ripped off Pembry's face, disposed the body, and wore the guard's face as a mask to exit the building without arousing suspicion. By the time the police figured out what happened, Hannibal was long gone.

Not only did Hannibal fool the characters in the scene - he completely fooled us since we didn't realise he was wearing a disguise until it was too late.
