10 Best Horror Movie Moments Of 2025

1. The End - Weapons

Companion
Warner Bros.

It's hard to think of a recent horror with an ending as satisfying (or hilarious) as Weapons.

Zach Cregger's Rashomon-style drama kicks off with 17 children from a classroom disappearing one night, leaving the town in disarray. It's ultimately revealed that the missing students were lured to a witch called Gladys, who hopes to feed off their energy. Local teacher Justine and disgruntled father Archer locate Glady's base, only to learn she has an army of entranced victims to protect her.

Just when it looks like all hope is lost, the only student from the class who didn't get bewitched, Alex, figures out how to reverse the spell, causing the children to target Gladys. Out of desperation, Gladys feebly scurries around the neighbourhood while the children barge through houses to reach her in a surprisingly comical chase sequence. Gladys' efforts are all for naught, though, since the children catch up and tear the malevolent crone apart.

Now, seeing a bunch of kids breaking down doors and having Gladys die in such an over-the-top manner could've ruined the movie, since the tone shift is so drastic. But after seeing Gladys destroy this commune, enslave children, and gleefully murder innocent people to suit her own needs, her absurd death isn't just warranted but needed.

It's also worth mentioning that Weapons plays out like a fable, so it's fitting to see the nasty witch perish in the most extravagant way possible.
